This Week at the Scallop Republic

March 31, 2017

  • Brian Bowen and Hugh Mitchell

    March 31, 2017 @ 5:30 pm8:30 pm

Brian Bowen has been making waves along the Forgotten Coast since 2009. From small venues to large festivals, he brings his salty Americana songs to life through matter-of-fact delivery. Humorous, vivid and oftentimes gritty, he weaves tales of love lost and found, the fragile ecosystem of the Apalachicola river and bay, and the people who make their living there. His style has been likened to that of Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, John Prine and Guy Clark, to name a few.

While maintaining a full time performance schedule (more than 200 dates in 2015), he works to support the surrounding community through volunteering with local organizations for awareness and fundraising endeavors, including the Apalachicola RiverKeeper.
